DIS COMPANY NEWS
Happy New Start
Our
President, Daniel Deere, has sold his interest in a regional
investigative agency, so that we may concentrate on the needs of our
local claims clients.
PROSECUTIONS
Case: 15766
Ms. W made a claim
to our carrier client in Oct 2005. The claim was denied when it was
discovered an unlicensed or excluded operator had the loss..
Subsequently Ms. W claimed her vehicle was repaired then stolen.
Investigation revealed the vehicle had never been repaired and instead
Ms. W sold the vehicle as salvage to a Baltimore area repair
shop. Ms. W was charged with insurance fraud and attempted felony
theft. At trial on September 14, 2006 after entering a plea of not
guilty, Ms. W was found guilty of both charges and sentenced to one
year in the Department of Corrections and placed on supervised
probation of a period of one year.
Case: 11626
Mr. KB was on Workers Compensation leave and claimed total disability
from his ability to work. An undercover investigation found Mr. KB
actively working as a bar manager. The surveillance tape was utilized
before the Maryland Workers Compensation Commission where Mr. KB had
his benefits denied. Subsequently he was charged insurance fraud and
felony theft for which he was found guilty on July 24, 2006. The Court
gave Mr. KB a break sentencing him to 23 months of incarceration and
suspending same in lieu of Mr. KB paying restitution to our carrier
client. Mr. KB failed to follow through and was charged with a
violation of his probation of which he was found guilty and sent to
prison for the original term of 23 months on August 9, 2006.
New Alliance
DIS is forming many strategic alliances with
professional partners in our field. Our first is with Cotton &
Krahling Special Services who offer, Surveillance, Security, Armed
Executive Protection and Polygraph examinations. Call either Bill
Cotton or Bill Krahling at 410-254-8600
New Innovations
DIS has expanded its use of national data
bases to include both online and hand searched court records across the
nation. This will allow EIB clients to have Court records directly from
the jurisdiction of origin in a most timely manner. EIB only
utilizes databases that do not sell to the general public and require
proof of investigative licensure. DIS continues to protect
individual privacy by accessing only relevant data for a determined
permissible purpose.
Quality Control
DIS employs agents with
the highest level of integrity and skill. Our corporate model
still requires routine integrity testing of agents. DIS has
expanded its internal audit to include the use of GPS enabled cellular
technology that allows supervisors to immediately verify the location
of its agents at any given time. This integrity audit assures DIS
clients and strategic partners of ongoing internal field supervision.
